Märta Hansson lives in Jakobsberg, Sweden, with her husband and two daughters. Märta began having problems with her central visual field about 6 years ago as a result of macular degeneration. She recently opted to take evening Web Development classes. Following her research, she began working at an NGO that assists people with disabilities by explaining how the government offers (financial) options to assist them. She also offers workshops on how visually impaired people can use computers and the internet, including the use of assistive technology (AT). Many developers attend these courses to learn about how to improve the usability of internet applications and make them more accessible.
