Magda is from Athens, Greece, and she was diagnosed with systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when she was 18 months old. She also has significant speech impairment as a result of her mother’s mild congenital deafness. Magda’s arthritis affected her entire body, causing stiffness in all of her limbs. Magda was relegated to a wheelchair after a larger number of joints became weakened over time.Her upper and lower limb mobility is both extremely impaired.
